And aloha means, well, aloha

Let's all sing it together... “I'm going to Hawaii.  I'm going to Hawaii” :)

After much in the way of travel and bringing my total of unused miles up in the 140000 range, I finally have gotten to use them for SOMETHING.  Got two tickets (no, you can't have the other one, it's Clodagh's) to Hawaii in Feb.  So far all I know is that I'm flying in and out of Oahu and have a bit more than a week in-between...  No hotel or itinerary planned for that time yet!  Soooooo, if you've been to Hawaii or your friend's neighbors daughter's college roommate's cousin has, and you've heard or know good or bad things to see/do (including saying “make sure you don't stay on Oahu the whole time - go to XYZ island for a couple days”) please feel free to let me know!

Is it February yet?

Here comes July... And the Heat

If there's anything that will really make you want a boat, it's living in a city where 90% of the buildings/places you're in don't have air-conditioning.  To make it worse, try having a view of the water and seeing loads of boats out there daily!  Yes, we've reached the time of year where Seattle has it's 4-day-long heat wave (90+ degrees) and is a bit unbearable at times.  Go to bed a bit later, crack the windows, crank the fans to high.  Go see a movie.  Just don't stay inside in that oven you call a home :)

Clodagh's off in Ireland for the next week or so, and I've been back in what Randy used to call “bachelor-mode” again.  Spent the past few days going to the horse races, poker room, soccer match, a couple softball games, and a quick nine-holes after work.  So yes, I suppose you can say that I've been keeping the time filled!

Speaking of the softball team, we managed to pull out a nail-biter in the 2nd playoff game.  The first game we would have won, except for that inning where the team gave up 9 runs.  Kinda throws off my plans to check out highlander golf course on Sunday but that's OK - not too much longer that I get to try to hit home runs :)  Almost hit one this past weekend, except that it rolled into the bushes and was called a ground-rule-double!
